30 Easy & Funny Baby Shower Game Ideas
So one of my best friends was expecting about six months ago, and as close friends, we helped plan her baby shower. It was such fun to get together with friends after a long time and plan a celebration. Once we had the theme, decor, and menu sorted, we moved to planning the baby shower games. After brainstorming a bunch of ideas, and ended up with a list of favorites that felt fun, personal, and perfect for the day. We played a few of them, but honestly, this list is a great source of inspiration if you are planning a baby shower.
P.S. We hosted a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star baby shower, inspired by this post on baby shower themes.

Classic Baby Shower Games
Baby Bingo
This game was a hit at my friend’s baby shower. Before she started opening gifts, we handed out bingo cards with common baby shower gifts written on them, things like diapers, baby clothes, bottles, and blankets. As she unwrapped each present, guests marked off the matching item on their cards. The first person to get five in a row shouted “Bingo!” and won a small prize. It kept everyone engaged while she opened gifts, and people got really competitive, hoping she’d open the right thing next!
Guess the Baby Food
This one had everyone laughing and was one of the best games we played. We bought several jars of baby food in different flavors: sweet potato, apple, peas, and even a weird one like turkey and gravy. Then, we added them to separate bowls, and guests had to taste a spoonful and guess what it was. Some people were brave, while others hesitated, especially with the green ones and weird colors. My friend’s husband guessed the most flavors correctly. It was hilarious watching their reactions, especially when they got a surprise flavor they weren’t expecting.
Don’t Say ‘Baby’
As soon as guests arrived, we gave them each a clothespin and told them one simple rule: don’t say the word “baby.” If they heard someone say it, they got to take that person’s clothespin. The person with the most pins at the end of the party won a prize. At first, everyone was careful, but after a while, people forgot and slipped up, especially when talking about the baby. It was so funny to watch guests try to trick each other into saying the word.
Baby Name Race
This is a fast-paced and fun game. Each guest must be given a sheet of paper with the letters A to Z written down the side. They will have two minutes to write down as many baby names as possible, one for each letter. When the timer goes off, count who had the most names. It is a fun way to get everyone thinking and come up with creative names. You never know, mom-to-be may find something she likes.
Hilarious & Active Games
Baby Bottle Chug
Fill baby bottles with juice and give one to each player. The challenge? Finish the bottle as fast as possible, but only through the tiny bottle nipple. It’s not easy to drink fast this way. The person who finishes first wins, but after the game, you will be left with sore cheeks from all the sucking.
Tinkle in the Pot
Each guest must place a balloon under their shirt to act like a mom-to-be belly. Then, they have to waddle across the room, holding a ping pong ball between their knees, and try to drop it into a jar without using their hands. My friends found it funny, but we didn’t play it because we were not sure if all the guests would like it.
Ice Baby
For this game, hand out small plastic cups with ice cubes with tiny plastic babies frozen inside. The game is simple, whoever gets the baby out first wins. But the catch is no smashing the ice! People need to hold it in their hands, blow on it, or get creative to make it melt faster. When you get the plastic baby, you win.
Creative & Sentimental Games
Decorate a Onesie
This was such a sweet and creative activity. We set up a table with plain white onesies in different sizes, along with fabric markers, iron-on patches, and little stencils. Guests got to design their own unique outfits for the baby. Some people wrote cute messages like “Mommy’s Little Star” or “Daddy’s Sidekick,” while others drew animals, rainbows, or silly faces. A few guests even tried to match the onesies to my friend’s favorite colors and theme for the nursery. By the end, she had a whole collection of adorable (and funny) outfits that the baby could wear.
Guess Who? Baby Photos
This game is both tricky and fun. Before the party, ask guests to send in a baby picture of themselves. You must print them out and tape them to a board with numbers next to each one. Guests have to write down their guesses for who was who. You will be surprised; it is nearly impossible to guess some people as the baby picture looks nothing like the present. The person who guesses the most correctly wins.
Advice for Mom & Dad
This is a special keepsake kind of game. Place a stack of note cards and pens on a table and ask guests to write down their best parenting advice or sweet wishes for the baby. After the party, you can collect all the cards and put them in a box for Mom and Dad to read later.
Word & Trivia Games
Baby Pictionary
Write a bunch of baby-related words on slips of paper, things like pacifier, stroller, diaper blowout, and baby bottle. Guests must take turns picking a word and drawing it on a whiteboard while everyone else tries to guess. Some drawings were easy to figure out, like a simple baby rattle, but others can get everyone confused. Use difficult words like swaddle, nap. The person with the most correct guesses wins. It will be really funny to watch the drawings and people guess them.
Baby Emoji Quiz
Hand out sheets of paper with a list of common baby-related phrases represented using emojis, such as a baby bottle and sleep symbol for “milk drunk” or a baby and music notes for “baby lullaby.”Guests have to decode as many as they can within a time limit.
Nursery Rhyme Fill-in-the-Blanks
This game will bring back childhood memories. Printed out incomplete nursery rhymes, like “Twinkle, twinkle, little ____” or “The itsy-bitsy _____ climbed up the water spout.” Guests had to fill in the blanks without looking up the lyrics. Include some less common or similar rhymes to confuse. The person who gets the most correct answers wins.
Laugh-Out-Loud Games
What’s in the Diaper?
This game is absolutely gross, but in the funniest way. Melted different chocolate bars and spread them inside diapers and let guests take turns inspecting them to guess what they are. It gets funny when people sniff them, poke at the “mess” with a spoon, or even taste it. Use a mix of chocolates like Snickers, Hershey’s, and Reese’s to make it tricky. The person who guesses the most correctly wins, but it is more of an entertainment.
Mom to Be Twister
This one was very funny. Guests stuffed pillows under their shirts and then played Twister. Reaching for the red or blue circles was hard enough, but with a big belly in the way, people kept losing their balance. Some guests fell over as soon as they tried to twist, while others got creative, stretching in the funniest ways to stay in the game. It was a great way to get everyone moving and make the party even more fun.
Baby Charades
This is a baby shower classic. Write baby-related activities on slips of paper, like “changing a diaper,” “burping a baby,” or “rocking a baby to sleep.” Guests have to act them out while the rest of the group guesses. It will be entertaining to see people trying their best to act.
Competitive & Fast-Paced Games
Spoon-Feeding Race
Pair up the guests; one person will be blindfolded while the other sits in front of them, ready to be fed. Give each team a small bowl of applesauce and a tiny baby spoon, then set the timer. The blindfolded person has to scoop up applesauce and feed their partner. The fastest (and least messy) team wins.
Baby Sock Sorting
Dump a big pile of tiny, mismatched baby socks in front of each guest and set a one-minute timer. Their job is to match as many pairs as possible before time runs out. Make sure the socks are all different colors and patterns, so people get flustered trying to find matches.
Balloon Belly Pop
This is a team game. Tie a balloon around each guest’s waist, positioned in front. They have to pop their balloons by bumping bellies with another guest, no hands allowed. The first team to pop all their balloons wins, but everyone will have fun watching the belly-bumping.
Name That Lullaby
Played short clips of classic lullabies, like “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and “Rock-a-Bye Baby.” But stop before the lyrics. Guests have to write down their guesses. At the end, the person with the most correct answers wins a prize.
Cuteness Overload Games
Baby Predictions
This was such a sweet and exciting game. Hand out little cards where guests can write down their guesses for the baby’s birth date, weight, length, and hair color. Some guests will take it seriously, thinking about the parents’ features, while others will just throw a random guess.
Who Knows Mommy Best?
Before the shower, ask her a bunch of fun questions, like “What’s her biggest craving?” and “What’s one thing she swears she’ll never do as a parent?” During the party, guests have to guess her answers. Those who know her will give spot-on answers, while others will take funny, wild guesses. The guest with the most correct answers wins, but it is really more about celebrating how well everyone knows and loves the mom-to-be.
Future Career Guess
This game is about imagining a baby’s future. Placed different objects in a bag, like a stethoscope (doctor), a microphone (singer), a paintbrush (artist), and a calculator (businessperson). Each guest takes a turn pulling out an item and predicting what career the baby might have based on it.
Hands-On & Crafty Games
Diaper Message Station
This was one of the most fun and practical activities at the shower. We set up a table with a stack of diapers and colorful markers, and guests got to write messages on the back of each one. Some people wrote sweet notes like “Hang in there, Mom and Dad!” while others went for funny ones like “You’re up, Dad!” My friend loved reading them, and we knew these messages would bring a smile (or at least a laugh) during those late-night diaper changes. It was such a simple but meaningful way for everyone to be part of the baby’s first few months!
Make a Baby Mobile
This activity will be a hit for the crafty guests. Provided a wooden hoop, string, and a bunch of cute little decorations like felt animals, stars, and clouds. Each guest gets to design and decorate a piece to be added to the mobile. Some people made little hearts, while others created tiny baby-themed cutouts. At the end, you will have a beautiful, one-of-a-kind mobile that can be hung in the nursery. It will be so special knowing that every guest had a hand in making something for the baby.
Bib Decorating Contest
Hand out plain white bibs and fabric markers, and guests have a set time to decorate them however they want. It can be adorable designs with baby animals and cute patterns, or funny phrases like “Feed me or nobody sleeps!” and “Mommy’s little mess maker.” Once everyone is done, you can pick a favorite and give a small prize to the winner. The best part? She will have a whole set of unique, handmade bibs that will get used.
Sweet & Sentimental Games
Mom vs. Dad Trivia
This game is such a fun way to see how well guests knew the parents-to-be. Before the shower, I ask the to-be-parents a bunch of questions, like “Who was the pickier eater as a kid?” or “Who took longer to learn to ride a bike?” Then, at the party, guests have to guess which parent each answer matched. Everyone will have a blast debating the answers, and it is a great way to celebrate both parents as they get ready for their little one.
Wishes for Baby
This was such a sweet and sentimental part of the shower. We set up a table with cute little cards and asked guests to write down their wishes for the baby. Some people wrote heartfelt messages like “I hope you always know how loved you are,” while others got creative with advice like “Eat your veggies, but always save room for dessert!” After everyone finished, we placed the cards in a keepsake book for my friend to read later. I know this will be something she treasures forever.
Letter to Baby
This was one of the most meaningful activities we did. Each guest wrote a letter to the baby, which my friend plans to save and give to them on a special birthday, like their 18th. Some people wrote about their excitement to meet the baby, while others shared life advice or funny stories about the parents. My friend even wrote a letter herself, which made it extra special. Knowing that the baby will one day read all these messages from the people who loved them before they were even born made this moment touching.
From My Party Notes
- We started with some icebreaker games because the guest list was a mix of a few family members and friends, who didn’t know each other. We played Baby Bingo. It was good to warm everyone up for fun games. I feel, Don’t Say ‘Baby” can also be a good choice.
- Read the room (or I must say, read the guest list) when planning games. Some games may not be well-received by everyone. For example, Tinkle in the Pot. But still, if you want to include mummy tummy kind of games, go for “Mom to Be Twister.”
- If you have scope for some activity-based games, include Diaper Message Station or Onesie Decorating. I highly recommend Guess the Baby Food. It was one of the most fun games when we played it at the baby shower.
- For sure, include some sentimental games like Wishes for Baby or Letters to Baby at the end. It helps to end the celebration with a warm and loving note.
- Baby Bingo can be played while opening the gifts.
