Easy Breakfast Charcuterie Board
My favorite and go-to way to serve breakfast when we have guests staying overnight is a Breakfast Charcuterie Board. You can easily serve everything with options to customize everyone’s needs, and it looks fancy. You can mix a variety from sweet to savory, and the self-serving nature of the breakfast board makes hosting easy for me. In this post, I am sharing a recent breakfast spread to inspire you for your next brunch.

Theme & Mood
We all wanted to have comfort food, and I was running out of fresh fruits and vegetables. So I went for a breakfast menu of kids’ favorite French toast, along with basic, plain omelette, and fresh croissant. Some oats porridge with dried fruits. It was easy to make and best use of what was available.
Now that I realise it is one of the easiest breakfasts to serve a crowd, as you need not peel and cut fruits or vegetables.

Step-by-Step Guide
Before we get into making the brunch board, there are a few things that need to be prepared first. I started by cooking oats with milk. Next was French toast. You can also make a French toast casserole, but I made it in a pan the way my family likes. Next, I made some basic omelets. You add some salt and paprika to a bowl with a little water to blend well, and crack eggs into it and beat well. That’s all, and start making omelets. It tastes good and is super simple.
- I started by preparing the French toast section first. I lined the wooden board with parchment paper and arranged the French toast slices, breaking each into quarters. This makes serving easier and helps reduce wastage, especially when kids are around.
- Next, I placed honey, maple syrup, and mango-flavored yogurt in pudding cups. These can be used for topping the French toast and also porridge.

- After this, I laid another board for savory items. Started by making flowers of omelet. Cut strips of omelets and roll them for a rossette shape, add a mint leaf, and hold it with a toothpick. The paprika in the omelet gives it a nice pink shade, and it’s perfect to grab and eat without any mess.

- Neatly arrange the croissants, followed by cheese slices. For the omelets, I laid a few of them folded on the platter and made some flowers with the remaining.

- I always keep some sort of patty in the freezer for a quick snack, and these potato and veggie patties came in handy here. You can also for meat slices or any other patty of your choice.

- Next, I arranged dried berries, pistachios, almonds, and dates in a circular platter. This was added to make the breakfast healthy. One can grab a few to munch on or add to the oats porridge.

- And finally completed it by adding fruit juice to an elevated wooden board.

From My Notes
Here are a few tips that elevate your breakfast charcuterie board and some variations.
- Instead of cutting the French toasts, I broke them into quarters for better texture instead of clean cut lines. You can also go for a French toast casserole and top it with whipped cream, honey, and fruit. Or just keep it plain with a serving of toppings on a sideboard. You can also go for pancakes or waffles.
- Instead of porridge, you can also serve granola. All the other things on the board, like yogurt/ whipped cream and dried fruits/ fresh fruits, can make a great parfait.
- The omelet flowers looked cute, and everyone enjoyed eating the bite-sized egg servings. You can also go for boiled eggs if you are short on time. Or make boiled egg filling that can make a great sandwich with a croissant and cheese for breakfast.
- For the dried fruit platter, I separated dark colored items like dried berries and dates with light-colored colored items like almonds and pistachios. You can go with any available to you.
- To make things more exciting for kids, instead of honey and maple syrup, you can go for chocolate syrup, Nutella, and peanut butter. But wanted to keep this one healthy.
- I went for 3 separate boards in a triangular arrangement and intentionally kept it this way to keep sweet and savory separate. You can go for one big board or serve directly on the table.
- For drinks, I used a wooden tray but placed it upside down to bring an elevation to the board. You must surely do this to break the monotony of the view.
- Add small utensils like spoons, tongs, and knives. And sauces and condiments that pair with the food.
- Make your breakfast board more exciting by playing with colors, like I added mint leaves to bring more color. You can add fruits for a pop of color or dust powdered sugar over French toast to add texture.
- Place a parchment paper over the wooden board or serving platter. It makes cleaning easy and also makes the appearance cohesive if you are using serveware in different materials or colors.
