How to make Strawberry Pancakes

Red Velvet Bundt Cake

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • Pink or red sprinkles (optional)
  • 8-inch bundt cake pan

Instructions

Start by mixing the dry ingredients i.e., flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder, ensure everything is well combined.

Next, in a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and a few drops of red food coloring for that rich red velvet color.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is smooth and has no lumps.

Make your oven ready by preheating your oven to 350°F.

I used an 8-inch bundt cake pan. Grease the bundt pan with butter or cooking spray, and give it a light dusting of flour so the cake doesn’t stick.

Pour the batter into the bundt pan and spread it evenly. Put it into the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. P.S. You can skip the bundt mold and use any other cake pan.

Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. And carefully take it out and put it on the wire rack, and let it cool completely.

While the cake is cooling, make the frosting. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter till it’s nice and creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar in portions by mixing well after each addition until the frosting is fluffy and smooth.

Generously spread the frosting on the top and sides of the cake. You can optionally add some sprinklers.

Serving Suggestions

Here are some suggestions to serve this red velvet cake for different occasions.

  • Slice the bundt cake into even-sized pieces with a sharp serrated knife for clean, beautiful cuts, and arrange the slices on a white a pastel colored platter.
  • You can serve it slightly chilled if you want the cream cheese frosting to stay firm, but if you like a soft and melt-in-your-mouth experience, serve it at room temperature.
  • For an elegant evening dinner or a birthday party, top the cake with edible gold flakes for an exotic look.
  • You can also add some edible flowers over the white frosting to make it look more festive, and place it as a centerpiece on the food table.
  • Place the cake on a white or pastel-colored cake stand to let the red color pop on your party food table.
  • When serving for Christmas, the red color of the cake matches the vibe for the occasion, decorate with some edible golden bead sprinklers and Christmas tree-shaped cookies around.
