Pick an Elegant Color Scheme
Eid party decor is for sure best with a touch of traditional decor but I find it much aesthetic when it is blended elegantly. And since most traditional decor elements are in metallic shade like gold, silver or copper an elegant color scheme balance it and made it pop and look much better. Here are some color scheme that I like:
- Ivory and gold
- Sage and silver or white
- Blush and bronze or gold
- Champagne and gold
Add Soft Crescent Moon & Star Lighting

Adding a soft lighting to any party just sets the mood right and give an instant celebration vibe but for an EID party instead of usual fairy lights add crescent moon & star lighting it not only makes the ambiance festive but perfectly blend Eid decor element elegantly.
You can add them to windows, curtains, balcony or entryway walls is also a great idea. You can also use it to visually demarcate area like food table or drink table. Or on the railings
For a fun twist you can use “Eid Mubarak” neon light to your decor to subtly bring some fun vibe. Add it to your living room or entryway wall to bring festive vibe to your Eid party.
Play with Drapes or Set Canopy
Eid and drapes had some tradition back it my home. My mom used to be obsessed with drapes, may be that’s why it is still with me. We would add long drapes to window and add some lights and make it as cozy sitting space.
You can also, have floor sitting or dinning area covered with drapes it canopy style and add lights or better hand lanterns to make the space more than everyday space and more beautiful. You can also use drapes with light to make food buffet table look more elegant and grand.
It is a minimal effort set up that will surely wow your guest and make a unique spot in your party.
Don’t miss to add some lights to draping, it will be perfect for evening gathering and give you good opportunity to add light without making it feel repetitive in decor.
Be careful while choosing the color of the drape. They should be neutral and match the color scheme of the decor, so that it does not look overwhelming.

Eid is perfect for clicking photos with family and friends as everyone is decked up in prettiest outfit. So if you have enough space make a small photo corner.
You can:

- You can also place and arch in crescent moon shape covered with flowers and greens and some fairy light for soft glow.
- Or add bunch of balloons in the colors scheme of decor and add in some flowers.
Make Food Table a Statement Corner
Decorating food table is a practical decor idea that make food served more presentable and tempting for the guests.
Use tired trays, risers and cake stand to add height and visual interest instantly.
Use festive servers like a gold serving tray to layout dry food items, crescent moon & star tray to serve desserts or gold snack plate with lid to serve condiments and sauces.

Hang Lanterns
Hanging lanterns is one of the easiest and effective way to bring Eid decor. It adds a glowing light to the party space and also brings the Eid decor element without much efforts.
- Go with a mix of different height of same or similar lanterns to add depth and make the space visually dramatic. You can go for Moroccan or Arabian style lanterns in gold or brass and for variation get them in different height or color of glass panel like few with clear glass and a few with red, blue or green based on your color scheme.
- Use battery or LED lanterns so that you can keep space safe and not worry about chords and power source.
- You can place big lanterns on the floor, hand small lanterns and use a few to fill empty corners.
- You can really play with lanterns in many way like placing them on the food table, entryway console, hang in balcony or over the canopy or draping.
They will make the space look magical at evening and build an ambiance.
Fill Corners with Touch of Tradition
Corners of living room are often ignored and they can be great space to add decor without compromising the functional space and use some available nick-nacks to make the space more welcoming.
Here are a few ways to style the corners:
- Hang string lights from ceiling to the bottom, or as shared earlier add big lanterns on the floor of empty corer space. If you have corner tables you can palace on them.
- Use pretty bowls to place some dates, dry fruits or chocolates (you must try these pistachio-kunafa chocolate bites) to make the guest feel more welcomed. This is functional and not just decorative.
- Use a glass or gold tray and add to it subtle Islamic accent decor and tasbih along with lantern or candle or aroma diffuser or flowers, and place it on a corner table.
- Add a simple flower arrangement with LED candles.
Add Rugs and Cushion for Cozy Seating

Make a cozy corner for guest to sit comfortably and chat. If you already have some extra sittings space you can spruce it up. With some nice cushion covers and drapes around and light it.
Or else you can lay a rug and throw some cushions and add around big lanterns or big indoor plants to visually create a boundary and also make it look pretty.
Stick to the color palette to make it look cohesive and elegant.
Add Beautiful Incense Holder for Ambiance
The first things that guest notice when they come for a party is the smell of the space. It is often underestimated but it sets the mood of the party and instantly make the space feel more welcoming.
Lighting bakhoor in a pretty Arabic style lamp will lot only make the space aromatic and add a functional decor to the space. You can lit it for few minutes and put it off and then keep the lamp in the party space to let subtle smell linger the room without disturbing the party.
I am not not up for lighting an incense or bakhoor so I add a few drops of scent to cotton ball and place it in the aroma lamp to bring a gentle smell to the space and make it look pretty. Here are some aroma lamp that will perfectly go with Eid decor vibe:
Add Floral Loop with Eid Greeting

I love to add flowers for Eid at home, it make space look special and a great reason for me to buy flowers. But I like simple use of flowers and not big vase flower arrangements. A subtle and clean way to include flowers in decor is to make floral loop, you can DIY buy making a loop with wire and add flowers to it. You can also make it like a wreath with multiple loops of wire and stick flowers in between.
You can hang a big one at the entryway with Eid Mubarak greetings and make small ones and hang on the wall or at windows they look pretty and elegant without getting gaudy with flower decor.
Don;t throw the flowers with broken stems and greens, you can include it in table setup or mix with corner decor setup.
So these are some small details that instantly light up your Eid celebration. Even using a few of them will instantly give your Eid party and instant glow with minimal efforts.
